Vein-Cut Silver: Travertine for Designers Who Don’t Want Beige
Not every project that wants travertine’s texture wants travertine’s warmth. Silver travertine has become the bridge material – it keeps the honest, porous, tactile quality that made travertine desirable again, but in a neutral grey register that sits comfortably with blackened steel, smoked oak and matte-black hardware. Cut against the bed, its banding becomes a series of clean horizontal lines that suit large-format architectural cladding.
Appearance & Finish Options
A silver-grey field striped with darker grey and warm taupe layers. Vein-cut orientation turns those layers into parallel linear striation; cross-cut produces a softer cloud pattern. Honed is the dominant specification – it keeps the grey cool and matte. Brushed and leathered finishes add tactility without gloss.
