Brazilian Quartzite Goes Global: How Marmomac Brazil 2026 Reshaped Middle East & India Sourcing

Brazil’s quartzite is no longer just a North American favourite. At Marmomac Brazil 2026, the Brazilian natural-stone sector closed US$1.9 million in immediate deals and projected a further US$3.7 million over the following 12 months — with UAE and India buyers, many with no prior ties to Brazilian quarries, front and centre.

The Numbers

The event’s Buyer Project Round ran 269 in-person meetings between 24 Brazilian exporters and 16 international buyers. Beyond the US$1.9 million signed, the headline shift was geographic: Brazilian exotic stone is now a priority specification for luxury developments in the Middle East and India, not only the US market.

Why Brazilian Quartzite

Varieties such as Taj Mahal, Patagonia, Mont Blanc and Sea Pearl combine marble-like aesthetics with a Mohs hardness of 7 — virtually scratch-resistant and highly acid-etched-resistant, which is why they dominate luxury kitchen islands and high-traffic cladding. Brazil’s Ceará region is expanding as a dedicated quartzite production hub.

Middle East & India

Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh increasingly specify Brazilian materials for interior cladding and backlit feature walls, while India — with 400+ active stone importers — is a fast-emerging buyer of Brazilian quartzite for its growing luxury residential market.

Quick Facts for Buyers

Sourcing Brazilian Quartzite

Because the market is diversifying fast, book early: top “Block A” selections face more global competition. Insist on dry-lay inspection or whole-slab photos of the specific blocks assigned to your order, and confirm seaworthy crating plus insurance for the longer Middle East / India freight lanes.
