Excalibur natural quartzite slab

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Excalibur natural quartzite slab?

Excalibur natural quartzite slab is quartzite — a metamorphic quartz rock ranking about 7 on the Mohs scale. It delivers marble-like veining and translucency with far greater durability, making it the go-to for clients who want the marble look without the maintenance. Sourced and processed by Stonelink from the Xiamen and Shuitou stone hub in China since 2012, it is supplied as slabs, cut-to-size pieces or tiles, all produced to order. Every block is photographed and often video-inspected so the exact veining you receive is confirmed before production begins. Because natural stone is a geological material, no two slabs are identical — we help you select and bookmatch sequential pieces so seams and pattern flow are planned, not left to chance. Standard slab sizes run about 240–300 cm by 120–180 cm, and we can produce tailored cut-to-size dimensions, thicknesses (commonly 18–30 mm) and edge profiles for your project.

What color and veining does Excalibur natural quartzite slab have?

Excalibur natural quartzite slab shows the characteristic depth and movement of quartzite, with veining, base tone and crystal structure varying block to block and even within a single slab. Color saturation and directionality mean lighting changes its appearance — a polished surface reads brighter and more reflective, while a honed finish looks softer and more matte. Because these shifts are real and unavoidable in natural stone, we recommend reviewing whole-slab photos or a short video before you commit to a shipment. If your design depends on a continuous pattern across a large area, tell us and we will pull sequential, bookmatched slabs and map the layout so seams and veining flow rather than clash.

What surface finishes are available?

Polished, honed and leathered finishes are all available for Excalibur natural quartzite slab, produced to order at our factory so you can match the mood of your project. Polished delivers a glossy, light-reflecting surface that maximizes color depth; honed gives a smooth, low-sheen, contemporary look that hides fingerprints and etching; leathered adds a soft, textured, non-reflective touch that emphasizes the stone’s natural grain. For wet areas we can apply an additional anti-slip treatment, and for backlit applications such as onyx we tune the thickness and backing so the glow is even. Tell us the intended room and we will recommend the finish and sealing plan.

Where is Excalibur natural quartzite slab used?

Excalibur natural quartzite slab is commonly specified for kitchen countertops, islands, backsplashes, feature walls, flooring and luxury residential projects. Its look leads the space, so it pairs well with restrained, neutral surroundings and good lighting. In a kitchen it works best on an island or a low-traffic section; in a bathroom it shines on vanities and shower feature walls; in hospitality it becomes reception desks, bar fronts and lobby cladding. Because the exact performance depends on traffic and exposure, tell us where it will live and we will confirm the right finish and sealing routine — for example a leathered, well-sealed honed surface for a busy floor versus a polished slab for a protected feature wall.

How do you care for Quartzite?

Quartzite is dense and durable, ranking about 7 on the Mohs scale. We seal it at fabrication and recommend resealing every 1–2 years depending on use. It resists scratching and acid etching far better than true marble, though a few exotic varieties contain softer mineral pockets, so we always confirm the exact slab with you before shipment to avoid surprises. Clean with mild soap and water and avoid prolonged acidic contact. At our workshops we pre-seal every slab before crating so it arrives protected. For kitchen countertops a single annual check of the seal is enough; for outdoor or high-traffic flooring we specify a more robust impregnator. Tell us the application and we will match the sealing plan to the exposure so the stone keeps its depth and polish.

Is Excalibur natural quartzite slab suitable for kitchen countertops?

Quartzite is excellent for kitchen countertops, islands and backsplashes where you want the marble aesthetic without the etching and high maintenance. It also suits flooring and luxury residential feature walls, and reads convincingly as marble to most guests while quietly outperforming it. We supply full slabs and cut-to-size pieces, and can bookmatch sequential slabs so a large island reads as one continuous pattern. For clients torn between marble and granite, quartzite is the compromise: harder than marble, softer than granite, with veining that rivals either. Tell us the room and the traffic and we will confirm the right finish — polished to maximize the glow, honed or leathered for a calmer, more tactile surface that hides daily wear.

What is the MOQ and lead time?

MOQ typically starts from one container (about 20–27 tons depending on slab size and thickness), and mixed sizes or products are accepted so you can consolidate an entire project in a single shipment. For smaller trials we can sometimes ship an LCL (less-than-container) batch of a few slabs, though the per-unit freight is higher; ask us and we will quote both options. Standard lead time is about 15–25 days after order confirmation for in-stock materials, or longer for custom cutting and special finishes. Before shipment we provide whole-slab photos and video so you know exactly what you receive, and we can hold stock for phased deliveries. For recurring orders we offer reserved inventory and rolling production schedules to keep your supply chain steady.

How can I import this stone from China?

Most overseas buyers work with Stonelink in four clear steps. (1) Share your project specifications, drawings or inspiration photos, or choose directly from our 60,000 m² inventory of 2,000+ designs. (2) We send whole-slab high-resolution photos and short video so you can verify exact veining, color and finish before committing — bookmatching and sequence are confirmed at this stage. (3) We handle export packing (foam-protected, fumigated wooden crates), container booking and ocean freight from Xiamen or Shuitou port. (4) Goods arrive at your destination port with the full document set (commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading, certificate of origin, insurance). We support both full-container-load and LCL shipments, and all communication is in English.

Do you provide quality control and certifications?

Yes. Stonelink is a China-based natural stone manufacturer and exporter operating from the Xiamen and Shuitou stone hub since 2012, with a 60,000 m² inventory spanning 2,000+ designs and direct quarry access, shipping to 80+ countries. Every shipment is inspected for packing and quality before loading — slabs are checked for cracks, bow, thickness tolerance and finish, then crated in foam-protected, fumigated wooden packaging. We can arrange third-party inspection (SGS, Intertek and similar) and supply the documentation your destination requires: commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading, certificate of origin and, where relevant, CE marking or material test reports. Tell us your certification and labeling needs (for example the EU, US, Australia or Middle East) and we will match them and pre-clear the paperwork so customs goes smoothly.
