Saudi Vision 2030 Mega-Projects: Sourcing White Marble & Quartzite for NEOM, The Line & Red Sea

Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 is the single largest demand driver for premium natural stone in the Middle East. Projects such as NEOM’s The Line, Trojena, Sindalah Island, the Red Sea Project and AlUla are specifying large volumes of white marble and quartzite for villas, palaces, mosques, hotels and public realm — and they buy at project scale, not showroom scale.

The Numbers

Market research puts Saudi natural-stone demand near US$480 million in 2026, with the UAE around US$390 million — both overwhelmingly project-driven rather than consumer-driven. Egypt’s New Administrative Capital adds further anchor demand across the region.

What Gulf Buyers Specify

White marble leads for villas, palaces and mosques — names such as Makrana White, Morwad White and Mercury White for pristine, colour-matched surfaces. Large-format slabs reduce seam lines across expansive floors. Quartzite and gold-veined stones are specified for luxury cladding and backlit feature walls in Dubai and Riyadh hospitality.

Documentation & Consistency

Gulf mega-projects demand batch consistency across multiple containers, plus SABER/SASO compliance where required. Sample panels reviewed and approved before full production runs are the norm, so a supplier’s ability to colour-match and document is as important as price.

Quick Facts for Gulf Projects

Sourcing for Gulf Projects

Plan for multi-container consistency: approve a sample panel, then lock colour batching across the full order. Work with a supplier who can pre-clear SABER/SASO paperwork and supply the full document set so customs and the main contractor’s QA both move smoothly.
